Description
This historical novel is about the people who were involved in the creation and maintenance of a Medical School, Law Department and Lunatic Asylum. The Introductory Chapter occurs in 1906, when the politically controlled Lunatic Asylum reached its lowest state of decline with four employees being charged with murder. That chapter ends with a question of how did a state facility become so nullified, when it had been so lovingly created by earlier local citizens. The first chapter starts in 1817, with the early beginnings of all three Institutions, the people involved and their struggles. The book concludes in the final seventh chapter in 1960, when significant changes were achieved. The people have rarely been recognized for their dedication to these three Institutions, including many medical pioneers and outstanding legal authorities. While the Institutions provide the background, the book focuses on the people and patients whose vast dedication is now told after many years of research by the author. - from Amzon
